Hi Adam
Welcome to the forum.
Not sure what you mean by a "TA award".
The A1 qualification is an NVQ qualification enabling the holder to assess NVQ's in any occupational area that he/she has the occupational experience to do so.
Hope this helps.

Hi Dave
What I mean by 'TA' is the Teaching Assistant qualification. Hope this clarifies this up for you.
I am also looking for assessors and IV's for various NVQ qualifications. If you do know of anyone please do pass my details on.
Thank
Adam

This is going back at the mo and I can honestly say, yes Im now an assessor. I am so bogged down with work that I can not think straight and do not have the energy to fill you all in. Ill see how it all goes as Im working my hardest. I'lle give it till November and if the company I am with dont make some practicle changes I will take my skills elsewhere.

Ah Hunny, the realities of being a TA assessor have kicked in. There is a lot that is fab. but saying that I have just had the worst 6 months ever, job wise. over 40 students, mix of L2 and L3 plus WBL so some teaching also. Spent most weekends and lots of evenings marking portfolios as during the day i am out on observations, teaching or doing tutorials - if I am not in meetings! meant to be part time, hah! what a joke! Never been so stressed out! Quality of students has ben poor this year also which has made it doubly hard.
Hunny what time do you get per student? ours is 30 mins a week L3 and 20 mins L2 and that includes obs. Paid @ £12.35 an hr plus 40p mile fuel.
I think TA NVQ is more involved as the Knowledge base and performance criterea are quite indepth. I have not seen another NVQ where candidates have to produce so much written work.
All the best with what you do. I just hope that my degree will give me the way out of assessing I am looking for, while still allowing me to work in Education.

IM assessing ccld and stls and I do like the job, its a good way of keeping your own skills up to scratch and all that. I feel buzzed because its a new skill and I love learning new skills. Just knackered and its almost an addictive kind of job, just can not leave it! I just hope my high level of organisation skills means I will get some rest, at the mo, being organised is my pit fall.
